Location: Cambridge
Salary: £27-30,000
Are you a recent Planning graduate ready to take the next step in your career with an established and experienced planning team?
I’m currently recruiting for a Graduate Town Planner opportunity in Cambridge, offering an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of planning projects. You’ll work closely with experienced planners, develop your technical knowledge and professional skills, and benefit from a structured graduate training programme designed to support your long-term career development.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist with the preparation of planning statements and planning appraisals
*Support the delivery of a range of planning projects, including larger and more complex schemes
*Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals
*Assist clients throughout the planning and development process
*Assess and appraise new development opportunities
*Undertake planning policy research and analysis
*Assist with the preparation of Design and Access Statements where appropriate
*Manage a variety of planning applications and monitor progress and outcomes
*Support community engagement and consultation activities
*Attend planning committee meetings and public examinations
*Participate in site visits and client meetings
*Assist with preparing fee proposals and project scopes
About You
*A degree in Town Planning or a related subject, ideally RTPI-accredited
*A clear interest in town planning and a genuine desire to develop a career in the sector
*Previous planning experience would be advantageous but is not essential
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Good organisational skills and attention to detail
*Comfortable working collaboratively within a team
*A proactive, motivated and ambitious approach to professional development
*Transferable skills and relevant experience are encouraged, and we welcome applications from candidates who may not meet every requirement
