A well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Hastings is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a fast-paced production environment, working closely with operational stakeholders and senior management.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
*Preparation of monthly management accounts, including full P&L and balance sheet reporting
*Production of monthly accruals, prepayments and journal postings
*Variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods
*Business partnering with operational and production teams to support decision-making
*Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
*Monitor manufacturing costs, stock movements and inventory reporting
*Assist with cost analysis and margin reporting across product lines
*Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances
*Cash flow reporting and working capital analysis
*Support year-end audit processes and statutory reporting requirements
*Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls
*Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required by senior management
About You
We’re looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and partnering with stakeholders across the business.
Ideally you’ll have:
*Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA
*Previous experience in a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role
*Manufacturing, engineering or production sector experience would be advantageous
*Strong management accounting and month-end reporting experience
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
*Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
*Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
*Proactive approach and desire to continuously improve processes
