Full job descriptionInterim Director of Adult Social Services
We are currently supporting a Local Authority in Shropshire with the appointment of an experienced Interim Director of Adult Social Services on an initial six-month contract.
This is a senior strategic leadership position, responsible for providing direction across Adult Social Care and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality, person-centred services while driving transformation, improvement and strong partnership working.
Key responsibilities:
*Provide strategic leadership across Adult Social Care and lead the Council’s transformation and improvement agenda.
*Oversee a broad portfolio including Adult Safeguarding, DoLS, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Social Work, Hospital Interface, Reablement, Day Services, Internal Provider Services and Quality Assurance.
*Ensure the service meets its statutory responsibilities and complies with the Care Act 2014 and wider regulatory requirements.
*Lead service improvement, innovation and preventative approaches to support independence and positive outcomes.
*Develop effective relationships with health partners, elected members, local authorities and other key stakeholders.
*Provide strategic oversight of commissioning and the development of a sustainable care market.
*Maintain strong financial, performance and governance arrangements across Adult Social Care.
*Promote effective integration between health and social care services.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Adult Social Services / Executive Director or equivalent senior Adult Social Care leader, with a strong understanding of local authority statutory services and experience of leading complex services through improvement and transformation.
