Full job descriptionA leading global construction consultancy in London is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong healthcare background to join their established project management team. The successful Senior Project Manager will work on complex healthcare developments across London, including major refurbishments, new-build schemes and live clinical environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to take a leading role on technically challenging projects while working with major public and private healthcare clients.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams and managing projects from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction and handover. This position would suit a confident Senior Project Manager who understands the demands of healthcare construction and can manage multiple stakeholders in sensitive, operational environments. The successful Senior Project Manager will have the opportunity to lead significant commissions, develop client relationships and support junior members of the team.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Senior Project Manager’s roleThe Senior Project Manager will lead the day-to-day delivery of healthcare projects, ensuring programme, cost, quality and risk objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities will include developing project strategies and programmes, coordinating design teams, managing procurement, chairing meetings, monitoring contractors and reporting directly to clients. The Senior Project Manager will also manage project risks, change control and stakeholder requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Given the healthcare focus, the role will require an understanding of delivering projects within complex or live clinical environments where phasing, operational continuity and stakeholder coordination are critical.
The Senior Project ManagerThe successful Senior Project Manager will ideally have:
*Significant Project Management experience within a UK construction consultancy
*Strong healthcare project experience, ideally involving hospitals, clinical facilities or healthcare estates
*A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or another relevant construction discipline
*MRICS, MAPM or MCIOB qualification, or demonstrable progress towards chartership
*Experience managing projects across multiple RIBA stages
*Strong knowledge of procurement, contracts, risk and programme management
*Excellent client-facing and leadership skills
*Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
