We are seeking a Head of Finance to join our team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the timely preparation, analysis, and interpretation of management and statutory accounts for the company and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be accountable for safeguarding company assets, ensuring value for money, and providing comprehensive financial guidance across the organization.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage, administer, and report all financial information to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring understanding across varying degrees of accounting knowledge.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all audits and financial statements are submitted within appropriate timescales.
*Create, monitor, and analyse all budgetary elements, ensuring strict adherence to approved budgets and forecasts in compliance with company policies.
*Appraise capital and operational expenditure proposals, coordinating tender committee reviews before submission for approval.
*Negotiate significant contracts with external suppliers to ensure optimal commercial outcomes and review contractual terms to safeguard the company’s interests.
*Assist in implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to maintain corporate governance.
*Manage and enforce financial control policies and Level of Authorities limits within the business.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Membership in a recognised financial institution.
*Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a senior financial position.
*Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
*Understanding of UK, European, and International tax, customs, excise, and insurance requirements.
*Proven ability to achieve results, particularly with financial regulatory requirements.
*High level of numeracy skills and diligence.
*Excellent negotiating skills with a track record of adding value.
*Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
