Full job description Brixworth, Northamptonshire £19.11 per hour Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday: 8:00am to 4:00pm
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer based in Brixworth, is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in production planning within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally automotive.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production runs efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in line with customer demand and quality requirements. You will play a key role in coordinating production activities, managing schedules, and ensuring materials and resources are available to support manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
*Load and maintain customer schedules within the MRP system.
*Manage MRP adherence and production planning activities.
*Carry out capacity planning against customer demand forecasts.
*Create, release and manage planned production orders.
*Utilise planning and scheduling software, including OpsCenter or similar systems.
*Monitor production progress and proactively identify potential risks or delays.
*Update customer demand forecasts and communicate requirements internally.
*Ensure the continuous supply of components to manufacturing work centres.
*Work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure materials are available to meet production requirements.
*Lead daily operational and customer status meetings.
*Provide accurate data to support decision-making across departments.
Stakeholder Management
*Build strong relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders.
*Collaborate effectively across operations, purchasing, manufacturing and customer teams.
*Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
*Recommend and implement process improvements to optimise planning and operational performance.
Compliance & Teamwork
*Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
*Promote a positive team culture and collaborative working environment.
*Support company policies, procedures and best practices.

Experience Required
*Previous experience in a Production Planner role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
*Automotive industry experience highly desirable.
*Active user of MRP systems.
*Experience using production planning and scheduling software such as OpsCenter or similar.
*Ideally experienced with two or more scheduling systems.
*Experience working to and achieving KPI targets.
*Strong understanding of production data, planning processes and operational procedures.
