Attendance Officer - Full-Time, Long-Term RoleLocation: Bradford, West Yorkshire

About the RoleVeritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong administrative and communication skills to play a vital role in supporting student attendance, punctuality, and engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents/carers, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to promote excellent attendance and help remove barriers to education.
Key Responsibilities*Monitor and record daily student attendance and punctuality
*Follow up on student absences and lateness with parents/carers
*Maintain accurate attendance records using school management systems
*Produce attendance reports for pastoral teams and senior leaders
*Work with students and families to improve attendance levels
*Support attendance interventions and action plans
*Liaise with external agencies where appropriate
*Ensure compliance with school policies and attendance procedures
*Promote a culture of high attendance and positive engagement across the school
The Ideal Candidate*Previous experience in a school, administrative, or attendance-related role is desirable
*Strong organisational and data management skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
*Confident using school management systems and Microsoft Office applications
*Professional, approachable, and able to build positive relationships
*Able to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
*Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
