We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join a supportive school in East London. This full-time role involves teaching and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with social, emotional and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who is passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
*Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions to support student progress.
*Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes engagement and achievement.
*Manage classroom behaviour effectively using SEND-specific strategies and approaches.
*Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
*Assess, monitor, and record student progress, adapting teaching methods where necessary to meet changing needs.
*Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside their academic achievement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience teaching pupils with SEND, including those with challenging behaviours, autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
*Excellent understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiated learning strategies.
*Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
*Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
*A proactive and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
