Turn Your Subject Expertise Into Meaningful Support
We’re looking for Subject Specialist Tutors across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you’ll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tailored approach to learning. We welcome applications from tutors and education professionals with experience teaching any curriculum subject, whether that’s English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, Art, Business Studies, Computing, or another specialist area.
If you have experience teaching a subject and enjoy helping students achieve their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
*Location: Basingstoke & Surrounding Areas
*Subjects: All Subject Specialisms Considered
*Start Date: September
*Hours: Flexible
*Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
*Type: 1:1 Tuition
Requirements
*Minimum 6 months’ experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
*Experience teaching or supporting at least one curriculum subject
*Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
*Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills
*Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
*Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Basingstoke and surrounding areas

You’ll work with children and young people of varying ages and abilities, including learners with:
*Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
*Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
*ADHD
*Anxiety and school avoidance
*EHCPs and additional educational needs
Each placement is different, allowing you to use your subject expertise to support learners in a way that works best for them.
