Reed Community Care is looking for compassionate and experienced Community Support Workers to support children and young people across Tameside. Working on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis, you will play a vital role in helping children build independence, improve their wellbeing, and access opportunities within their local community. The Role
As a Community Support Worker, you will:
*Provide dedicated 1:1 and 2:1 support to children and young people within community settings.
*Encourage independence, confidence, and the development of daily living skills.
*Support children to participate in social, educational, and recreational activities.
*Follow tailored, person-centred support plans to meet individual needs and outcomes.
*Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust and emotional wellbeing.
*Assist with attending appointments, community activities, and local services.
*Observe, record, and report any concerns relating to a child’s safety or wellbeing.
*Maintain high standards of care while adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements
To be considered, you will need:
*A minimum of 6 months’ experience supporting children within a care, support, education, or community-based setting.
*Experience providing 1:1 or 2:1 support is highly desirable.
*A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*A valid DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (support is available for new applications).
*The right to work in the UK. Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.
