Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and professional Temporary Medical Secretary to provide administrative and patient support within a busy private healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and confident managing patient interactions, clinical administration, and financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Use DGL software to manage patient records and clinic administration.
*Act as a first point of contact for patients, providing a professional and welcoming service.
*Handle patient-facing enquiries and respond to routine clinical queries, escalating where appropriate.
*Manage patient bookings, appointments, amendments, and cancellations.
*Set up and coordinate private clinics, ensuring all administrative requirements are completed.
*Prepare and send patient correspondence, including appointment letters and clinical communications.
*Arrange and post documentation to local hospitals and healthcare providers.
*Create and process online invoices.
*Raise and issue invoices to patients in a timely manner.
*Maintain accurate records of expenses and associated documentation.
*Ensure patient information is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR and healthcare regulations.
*Provide general administrative support to consultants and the wider clinical team.
Essential Requirements
*Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or within a healthcare administration role.
*Experience using DGL software.
*Strong patient-facing communication skills.
*Experience managing patient appointments and clinic scheduling.
*Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
*Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable Requirements
*Experience working within a private healthcare setting.
*Knowledge of medical terminology.
*Experience processing invoices and maintaining expense records.
