A leading planning consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner to join its growing Sheffield team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven planner who is looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse portfolio of interesting and commercially significant projects across the UK.
The RoleAs a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects from inception through to determination, while developing strong relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a varied caseload of planning projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.
*Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
*Providing strategic planning advice to clients and project teams.
*Undertaking planning appraisals and development potential assessments.
*Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and other stakeholders.
*Managing projects and ensuring deadlines, budgets and client expectations are met.
*Supporting junior members of the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
*Contributing to business development and helping to strengthen existing client relationships.
About YouWe’re looking for an experienced planner with a strong understanding of the UK planning system and a genuine interest in development and the built environment.
You’re likely to have:
*A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
*MRTPI status or be working towards chartership.
*Several years’ experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment.
*Strong knowledge of the English planning system.
*Experience managing planning applications and providing professional planning advice.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong organisational and project management abilities.
*A commercial mindset and the confidence to engage directly with clients.
