*Working Hours: 7.33 hours per day (Mon-Fri)
Join Oldham Council as a Technical Property Helpdesk Officer, where you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective technical, administrative, and financial service. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless property management experience for a diverse range of clients in both public and private sectors.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Operate on a rota system to cover the Property Service desk.
*Handle all customer calls, identifying issues, recording details, and inputting new repairs with a focus on resident satisfaction.
*Provide property-related services including facilities management, ensuring service level agreements with Oldham Council and other partners are met.
*Engage with surveyors, contractors, and clients to prioritize and action repairs.
*Utilize a computerized maintenance system to ensure data is detailed, accurate, and consistent for tracking and following up on repair orders.
*Generate reports from the maintenance system to satisfy enquiries from various stakeholders.
*Monitor and report on the progress of maintenance works and statutory servicing to ensure efficiency, economy, and adherence to agreed priorities, budgets, and programmes.
*Build strong relationships with clients, including schools, and keep them informed about the costs of repairs and maintenance work.
*Process invoices adhering to Financial Regulations, including VAT and CIS procedures, ensuring compliance for payment.
*Manage the invoicing process using a paperless system, resolve disputes efficiently, and liaise with surveyors on any disputed jobs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in property management or facilities management.
*Strong administrative and financial management skills.
*Proficiency in using computerized maintenance systems and standard office software.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong client relationships.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Knowledge of local government financial regulations is highly desirable.
