Communication Support Worker (BSL Level 3+)
Location: Bradford
Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week
Rate: £25+ per hour
Reed Further Education are recruiting for a Communication Support Worker (CSW) to support deaf and hearing-impaired learners within a Further Education setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified BSL practitioner to make a meaningful impact by enabling learners to access their education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide communication support for learners using British Sign Language (BSL).
*Facilitate access to teaching, learning, tutorials, and wider college activities.
*Support learners both in and outside of the classroom where required.
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to ensure learner needs are met.
*Promote learner independence while providing appropriate support.
*Maintain accurate records and comply with safeguarding and confidentiality requirements.
Essential Criteria
*BSL Level 3 qualification or above.
*Experience supporting deaf learners in an educational or professional setting.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable
*Previous experience as a Communication Support Worker within Further Education.
*Knowledge of SEND and inclusive learning practices.
*BSL Level 4 or above.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
