Job overviewWe are Seeking a Medical Lead for Adult Community Division (SW).
The post holder will provide leadership to facilitate the smooth operation, delivery and high quality of all medical services within their designated area of responsibility.
The post holder will take line management responsibility for operational and professional issues for
doctors within the service area.
The post holder will work collaboratively with Clinical Directors and the Service Managers to ensure
service delivery is in line with Trust Strategy and performance objectives.
The post holder will be a key member of the Service Stream Management Group and will contribute
towards business planning, strategy attainment, service redesign and performance achievement.
Main duties of the jobTo provide strong medical leadership - this complements and supports the work of Service Manager,
· Managing Director and the Clinical Director.
· To strive to achieve the delivery of targets to improve performance with the service area.
· To support the Clinical Director in the strategic work of the service area.
To support the Clinical Director, Managing Director and Service Line Leaders, ensuring that proper procedures are in place for assessment, care and treatment of patients.
· To support Clinical Director, Managing Director and Service Line Leaders in ensuring the achievement of all quality standards and protocols and monitoring their application. Such protocols include referral pathways, confidentiality, safeguarding, maintenance of supervision and dealing with complaints etc.
Working for our organisationIn 12 years, the Trust has been successful in acquiring the tender for the provision of specialist Learning disability services in Norfolk, North Essex and Buckinghamshire. The Trust covers a mix of rural and urban areas, including the City of St Albans, the large towns of Watford, Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage, and the smaller towns of Hemel Hempstead, Radlett, Berkhamsted, Harpenden, Hertford, Ware, Bishops Stortford, Hitchin and Letchworth.
Hertfordshire Social Services have divided the county into four areas. The county has three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). West Hertfordshire is served by Herts Valleys CCG and Dacorum and East and North Hertfordshire is served by East and North Herts CCG.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities· To support the Managing Director and the Clinical Director on the development of service redesign as required
· To ensure that medical budgets are appropriately managed.
· To work with Acute, Specialist, Forensic and Rehab, Social Care and Academic partners to ensure delivery plans support the wider health and social care agenda, including improvements into equality and access
· To challenge existing practices and support the Managing Director, the Clinical Director and Service Manager in providing progressive solutions which take into account evidence-based practice and incorporate it into service delivery and service redesign plans.
· To support services to deliver service redesign projects which will deliver improved outcomes for service users and most efficient use of resources.
Person specificationTraining & QualificationsEssential criteria*Primary Medical Degree
*Full registration with the GMC and license to practice
Desirable criteria*Project Management experience
*Training as an investigator
ExperienceEssential criteria*Sufficient experience as a consultant psychiatrist.
*Managing time and ensuring deadlines are met.

*Proven track level of achieving healthcare targets
