Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client is currently recruiting for a Site Manager with either Nebosh General or Construction qualifications. The Site manager will be confident in coordinating multiple subcontractors on a live public site, and comfortable taking full ownership of Permits to Work, RAMS and CDM 2015 compliance.
Key responsibilities for the Site Manager
*Working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager
*Lead by example and embed a safety culture, promoting Hazard and Near Miss reporting
*Ensure all works are carried out safely and that supervisors and teams comply with relevant legislation and regulations
*Conduct RAMS evaluations, pre-start briefings, Toolbox Talks, point-of-work risk assessments, site inspections and incident reporting
*Issue and manage Permits to Work (PTW) for all high-risk activities, including mid-permit monitoring checks
*Actively supervise all active work zones, with a minimum of two inspections per zone per day
*Coordinate installation works with multiple subcontractors and stakeholders, including verifying Traffic Management arrangements at all excavation pits
*Identify and expose faults on buried networks that do not meet project specifications
*Manage pedestrian and public protection across the site, controlling access to excavations and other high-risk areas
*Order materials, handle deliveries and support commissioning activities
*Attend weekly site meetings and report progress and concerns to the Project Manager
*Maintain daily site records, QA packs and logs, reporting progress and budget matters to senior management
*Complete weekly formal Health & Safety inspections and submit the weekly H&S summary to the Construction Director
*Oversee environmental compliance, including COSHH substance management
*Share lessons learnt with the wider organisation and embed a near-miss reporting culture
