Job Description:
Full job descriptionHR Manager - 12 Month FTC
Location: Fully Remote
Salary: £46,000
Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity where you can genuinely influence the people agenda, work closely with senior leadership and make a visible impact within a purpose-led organisation?
Macmillan Davies is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a growing, values-driven organisation based in Manchester to recruit an HR Manager for a 12-month maternity cover contract.
You’ll join an organisation with an established people strategy, a strong and distinctive culture and ambitious plans for continued growth.
The role
Reporting directly to the CEO and working as part of the Senior Management Team, you’ll take responsibility for both the strategic and operational people agenda.
You’ll also manage and develop an experienced HR Administrator who supports across recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration and wider HR processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Leading the delivery of the organisation’s People Strategy, with a particular focus on attracting, retaining and developing talent.
*Acting as a trusted HR partner to the CEO, Senior Management Team and operational managers.
*Coaching and challenging managers to build their confidence and capability around people management.
*Overseeing recruitment and onboarding, including supporting the organisation through a period of continued growth.
*Leading learning and development activity, including the continued development of existing and aspiring managers.
*Ensuring HR policies, processes and documentation remain compliant with changing employment legislation.
*Providing advice across employee relations, performance, absence and wider people matters.
*Supporting organisational change, including potential TUPE, contract retenders, workforce planning and restructuring activity.
What we’re looking for
We’re keen to speak to experienced HR professionals able to step into a broad leadership role.
You’ll need to be comfortable operating in a small organisation where HR is both strategic and hands-on. One day you could be discussing workforce strategy with the CEO; the next you may be supporting a manager, reviewing a policy or solving an immediate operational challenge.
You’ll ideally bring:
*Broad generalist HR experience across both operational and strategic HR.
*Strong employment law and employee relations knowledge.
*Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders.
*Experience coaching and developing managers.
*Exposure to organisational change including TUPE experience
*A collaborative, approachable and pragmatic style.
*Ideally, experience gained within a charity, not-for-profit, social care, health, housing, education, public service or similarly purpose-led environment.
This is a warm, collaborative and non-corporate environment where relationships matter. You’ll need to be comfortable challenging when necessary while remaining approachable, solutions-focused and willing to get involved.
Although the role can be performed fully remotely, there is office space available in Manchester for anyone who prefers occasional office working, alongside opportunities to meet colleagues face-to-face when beneficial.
