The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Engineering team at a large-scale manufacturing facility in Northamptonshire.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery, equipment and site services.
*Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently and effectively.
*Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimising production downtime and maintaining operational output.
*Complete routine inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment remains safe, compliant and reliable.
*Support the installation, commissioning and modification of new and existing equipment.
*Work closely with Production and Operations teams to prioritise maintenance activities and respond to operational requirements.
*Identify recurring equipment issues and implement permanent corrective solutions.
*Investigate breakdowns and incidents, carrying out root cause analysis and recommending preventative actions.
*Support engineering and continuous improvement projects across the site.
*Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability, efficiency and overall equipment performance.
*Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
*Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with company procedures, engineering standards and HSE requirements.
*Contribute to a positive safety culture and promote safe working practices across the site.
*Take ownership of maintenance issues and use your engineering expertise to make effective, informed decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
*HNC, HND or Degree-level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
*A recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
*A completed time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience.
*Proven experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance environment.
*Strong multi-skilled engineering capabilities across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
*Proven experience carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
*Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
*Experience working with industrial production machinery and associated plant equipment.
*Knowledge or experience of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous.
*A strong understanding of health, safety and engineering best practice.
