Salary: £40000 - £45000 with up to 5% performance-related bonus
Contract: 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract (with possibility of extension)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join a leading housing organisation on a 2-year fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the organisation’s procurement strategy, managing end-to-end procurement exercises, and ensuring compliance with relevant procurement legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with public sector experience who enjoys managing complex procurement projects, engaging with stakeholders, and delivering value for money.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage end-to-end procurement exercises across a range of categories
*Advise stakeholders on procurement routes, tendering strategies, and compliance requirements
*Manage procurement activity through the Delta e-Sourcing portal
*Prepare tender documentation, evaluation methodologies, and procurement notices
*Conduct commercial, financial, and regulatory assessments of tender submissions
*Support contract mobilisation, performance management, and supplier relationship management
*Monitor procurement compliance through audits and spend analysis
*Maintain contract registers and procurement records
*Identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver procurement efficiencies
*Support the development and improvement of procurement processes and procedures
*Deliver procurement guidance and training to internal stakeholders
About You
We are looking for a procurement professional who can demonstrate:
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in public sector procurement
*Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and public procurement regulations
*Experience leading works tenders (essential)
*CIPS qualification or equivalent procurement qualification
*Experience using e-sourcing platforms such as Delta
*Strong commercial analysis and tender evaluation skills
*Ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously
*Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
*Strong Excel and reporting capabilities
