The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and inspecting pump and pressurisation equipment to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.

Job Description

*Assemble pump sets, booster sets, pressure vessels, valves, and associated pipework.
*Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and assembly instructions.
*Carry out mechanical fitting, installation, and testing of water pumping systems.
*Perform fault-finding and diagnose assembly or performance issues.
*Conduct quality inspections and pressure testing on completed units.
*Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery safely.
*Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and production schedules.
*Complete build documentation and testing records accurately
*Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
*Support continuous improvement activities within the workshop.


Mechanical Fitter

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

*Previous experience in a Mechanical Fitter, Assembly Technician, Pump Engineer, or Manufacturing role.
*Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
*Experience with pumps, motors, pipework, valves, or fluid handling equipment.
*Strong mechanical assembly and fault-finding skills.
*Competent in using hand and power tools.
*Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship) advantageous. .
