Full job descriptionWe’re currently recruiting for Skilled Operatives to join an established contractor delivering works across the Network Rail Reactive Civils Framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced construction and rail operatives who enjoy variety and want to work as part of a professional site team delivering essential maintenance and improvement works across the railway.
The Role
Working as part of a multi-skilled delivery team, you’ll be involved in a range of reactive and planned civils works across the rail network.
Projects can include work around station platforms, station buildings and other railway infrastructure.
You’ll be expected to bring a strong trade skill or construction background to the role, whilst being flexible enough to support the wider team when your particular trade isn’t required.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out civil engineering and maintenance works safely and to the required standard.
*Undertake work across railway infrastructure, including stations, platforms and buildings.
*Use tools, plant, equipment and vehicles correctly and responsibly.
*Check equipment and materials before use and report any defects or issues promptly.
*Follow site procedures, risk assessments, method statements and health & safety requirements.
*Work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team to meet project deadlines.
*Assist with other reasonable site duties when required to support the wider delivery team.
*Maintain a professional approach when working on Network Rail infrastructure and around members of the public.
What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in multi-skilled Operatives who have a solid trade or construction background.
Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial:
*Joinery
*Bricklaying
*General construction
*Railway civils
*Building maintenance
*Station or infrastructure works
Rail experience is advantageous, but we’re also interested in candidates with strong transferable construction skills.

Please note: Due to the nature of the work and the importance of being able to respond effectively to projects, candidates must live within approximately one hour’s travelling distance of the company’s North West office.
