Overview
A global e-commerce compnany is seeking a Senior React Engineer to help build a new internal platform that will simplify how digital trading teams interact with product search and tools.
The platform will provide a modern, intuitive user interface that sits behind a newly developed API layer, helping abstract the complexity of existing search technologies and creating a foundation for future platform development.
This role would suit an experienced contractor who thrives in autonomous environments and can take ownership of front-end delivery.


The Role
You will play a key role in designing and developing a modern React application that enables teams to manage and interact with search and product functionality through a streamlined user experience.
Working closely with backend engineers and engineering leadership, you’ll help deliver a scalable and user-friendly platform within a fast-paced delivery timeline.
Key responsibilities include:
*Building a modern React-based web application
*Developing and consuming REST APIs
*Collaborating with backend engineers to define API contracts
*Creating intuitive user experiences for non-technical business users
*Contributing to front-end architecture and technical decisions
*Writing clean, maintainable and high-quality code


Required Skills & Experience
*Strong commercial experience with React JS
*Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs
*Strong JavaScript / TypeScript development skills
*Experience building scalable, production-grade web applications
*Ability to work autonomously and deliver with minimal supervision
*Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
*Typically 6-10+ years software engineering experience




Desirable Experience
*Familiarity with .NET backend environments
*Experience working alongside .NET Core engineering teams
*Azure exposure
*E-commerce or retail sector experience
*Search, merchandising or product catalogue platforms
*Experience building internal business applications

We’re looking for a senior contractor who is highly self-sufficient, proactive and capable of making technical decisions independently. You’ll be comfortable entering an established engineering environment and delivering value quickly with minimal on-boarding.
