I am working with a multi-service law firm in Liverpool that is looking to appoint an experienced Criminal Advocate/Duty Solicitor to join their busy and growing criminal defence team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about publicly funded legal work and confident managing a varied criminal caseload.
The RoleThe successful candidate will handle a broad range of criminal defence matters, including:
*Representing clients detained at police stations
*Managing a caseload covering the full spectrum of criminal offences
*Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials
*Working within a fast-paced environment while maintaining high professional standards
Candidate Requirements*Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in criminal matters
*Police Station Representative qualification
*Criminal Litigation Accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain it)
*Strong advocacy and communication skills
*Confident managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision
*IT proficient and comfortable using case management systems
*Pragmatic, professional, and positive approach to work
*Passion for publicly funded legal work
*Excellent client care and team-working skills
*Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines
