Contract: Full-Time, Permanent | 40 Hours Per Week

Registered Manager - New Children’s Residential Home
We are recruiting an experienced and ambitious Registered Manager to lead a newly refurbished four-bed children’s residential home near Tamworth.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a brand-new service, leading it through Ofsted registration and into successful operation.
Working closely with the Responsible Individual and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in developing the service, recruiting your team and establishing a positive, therapeutic and child-centred culture.
The home will support young people aged 13-17 years with:
*Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
*Trauma and attachment-related needs
*Challenging behaviours
*Complex social and emotional needs
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will:
*Lead and support the Ofsted registration process, including SC2 requirements and Fit Person preparation.
*Develop and maintain the home’s Statement of Purpose.
*Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
*Recruit, induct, supervise and develop a high-performing care team.
*Establish robust safeguarding and safer recruitment systems.
*Manage referrals, admissions, placement planning and transitions.
*Lead safeguarding concerns, investigations and regulatory notifications.
*Ensure effective risk assessments and behaviour support plans are maintained.
*Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, commissioners and external professionals.
*Manage staffing rotas, workforce planning and training compliance.
*Promote trauma-informed, therapeutic and child-centred practice.
*Drive continuous improvement and work towards positive Ofsted outcomes.
*Take overall responsibility for the safe and effective day-to-day management of the home.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
*Completed Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
*Minimum 3 years’ experience within children’s residential care in the last 5 years.
*Minimum 1 year’s supervisory or management experience.
*Experience preparing for and participating in Ofsted inspections.
*Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
*Experience managing safeguarding and child protection concerns.
*Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, PACE, attachment theory, restorative practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
*Strong leadership, communication and report-writing skills.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*Enhanced DBS suitable for working with children.
Desirable Experience
*Previous Registered Manager experience.
*Experience opening or registering a new children’s home.
*Experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted judgements.
*Knowledge of commissioning and placement processes.
*Experience working alongside clinical and therapeutic professionals.
*Level 7 Leadership qualification.
Salary & Benefits
