Job Description:
Full job descriptionMANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT – DATA & REPORTING
International Services Group | Finance Transformation | Commercial Finance
London | Hybrid
£45,000 – £50,000 + Benefits
We Do Group are partnering with a growing international services business to recruit an ambitious Management Accountant into its London finance team.
This is much more than a traditional month-end role. The business operates across around 25 companies in the UK and internationally and is investing heavily in its finance function, with a real focus on better data, smarter reporting and greater commercial insight.
Initially, around 70% of the role will focus on management accounting, with the remaining 30% protected for data, reporting and automation projects. As processes improve and reporting becomes more automated, the role will evolve increasingly towards FP&A, commercial analysis and business partnering.
They’re looking for someone sharp, curious and ambitious – someone with the potential to grow quickly and take on much more as the role develops.
The culture is another big selling point. You’ll be based in fantastic London offices, surrounded by a fun, collaborative team and a senior leadership group who are dynamic, supportive and genuinely enjoyable to work with. It’s professional and ambitious without feeling overly corporate – a place where people work hard, have a laugh and enjoy coming into the office.
For someone looking to build strong technical foundations and then move towards a commercial/FP&A career, this is a seriously exciting opportunity.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
*Owning a portfolio of entities through the full month-end process
*Producing journals, reconciliations, intercompany and entity-level P&Ls
*Taking genuine ownership of balance sheet integrity
*Investigating performance against budget, forecast and prior periods
*Improving the quality and structure of financial data
*Helping Finance better understand profitability by client, branch, service line and contract
*Connecting operational and financial information to provide better commercial insight
*Automating recurring management reporting and reducing manual spreadsheet work
*Using Excel, Power Query and AI-assisted tools to make reporting faster and more effective
*Identifying processes that can be simplified or improved
*Supporting budgeting and rolling forecasts
*Building relationships across the business and helping non-finance stakeholders understand the numbers
*Gradually taking on more FP&A, analysis and commercial business partnering as the role develops
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
More than anything, we’re looking for potential.
You don’t need to have spent years doing exactly this role. You do need to be bright, ambitious, commercially curious and genuinely interested in understanding how a business works.
You’ll probably be the type of person who doesn’t just complete a process because that’s how it’s always been done. You’ll want to understand why, challenge it and find a better way.
Ideally, you’ll have:
*Experience owning or playing a significant role in month-end management accounts
*Strong grounding in balance sheets, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and intercompany
*Part-qualified/finalist ACCA or CIMA status, or strong equivalent experience
*Strong Excel skills and a genuine interest in data and reporting
*Evidence of improving or automating a finance process
*An interest in AI and how it can practically improve Finance
*The confidence to question existing processes and bring new ideas
*Strong communication skills and the personality to build relationships across a business
*A desire to develop towards FP&A, commercial finance and business partnering
*The ambition to keep learning and take on increasing responsibility
Experience within a multi-entity business, Business Central or a high-volume environment would be useful, but none are essential.
We’re much more interested in finding someone with the ability, attitude and potential to become an exceptional finance professional than someone who simply ticks every box on a job description.
If you’re ambitious, enjoy working with data and want a role where you can build strong technical foundations before developing into a much more commercial and forward-looking finance position, this could be a fantastic career move.
The role is based in London, with an expected working pattern of three days per week in the office.
