Job Type:Full-time - Night Shifts
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Assistant to join our team in Slough. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals in maintaining stable accommodation, developing independent living skills, and improving their overall wellbeing.
As a Housing Support Assistant, you will provide practical and emotional support to residents, helping them sustain their tenancies and work towards greater independence.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver person-centred housing-related support to individuals with a range of needs.
*Assist residents with developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and managing household responsibilities.
*Support residents to access healthcare, benefits, employment, education, and community services.
*Help residents maintain their accommodation and comply with tenancy agreements.
*Complete and maintain accurate support plans, case notes, and other relevant records.
*Carry out regular welfare checks and respond appropriately to residents’ needs and concerns.
*Support residents in developing the skills and confidence needed to live independently.
*Work closely with housing providers, local authorities, and partner agencies.
*Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
*Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies and procedures.
*Respond appropriately to emergencies and welfare concerns.
*Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents.
Requirements*Previous experience in housing support, homelessness services, social care, or a similar support role is desirable.
*Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals with complex needs would be advantageous.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A caring, empathetic, and professional approach.
*Good organisational and time management skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
*A proactive approach to supporting residents to achieve their goals.
*Right to work in the UK.
*Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to obtain one, where applicable.
