£25-£30 per hour | 6-month contract | Potential to extend
CRA Consulting are currently working with a local authority based in Manchester who are seeking an experienced Youth Justice Probation Officer to join their Children’s Services team on an initial 6-month contract, with the opportunity for the assignment to be extended.
The successful candidate will manage a caseload of young people and their families, with a key focus on preventing and reducing offending. You will be responsible for assessing risk, managing interventions and supervising young people subject to court orders and other sentences.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage a caseload of young people and families involved with the Youth Justice Service.
*Complete assessments of risk of harm, re-offending and offence-related needs.
*Prepare high-quality reports for court and other agencies.
*Supervise and manage pre-sentence interventions, sentences and court orders.
*Develop and deliver appropriate programmes and interventions.
*Support young people subject to custodial sentences and post-release supervision.
*Work closely with partner agencies to reduce and prevent youth offending.
*Maintain accurate and timely case records and information systems.
*Ensure safeguarding and national standards are consistently met.
Requirements:
*Qualified Probation Officer with Professional Qualification in Probation (PQiP).
*Previous experience within probation and/or youth justice.
*Strong understanding of risk assessment, safeguarding and offending behaviour.
*Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
*Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work to deadlines.
*Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required.
