Full job descriptionNXTGEN Recruitment is supporting a well-established and successful business in Great Yarmouth with the appointment of an experienced Purchase Ledger professional on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Joining a supportive finance team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day purchase ledger and ensure supplier accounts are processed accurately and efficiently. The business operates across both UK and international markets, giving the role additional variety through foreign payments and a broad supplier base.
The roleYour responsibilities will include:
*Processing purchase invoices and matching them against purchase orders
*Creating and maintaining accurate supplier records
*Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
*Preparing monthly supplier payment runs
*Processing weekly international and foreign-currency payments
*Allocating payments against supplier accounts
*Managing staff expenses, company credit cards and petty cash
*Processing credit notes, returns and proforma payments
*Responding to supplier queries and resolving issues promptly
*Working with teams across the business to improve the flow of financial information
*Supporting the wider finance team when required
What we’re looking forThis position would suit someone who has:
*Previous Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience
*Experience completing supplier reconciliations and payment runs
*Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
*Good Excel skills
*Experience using an integrated finance or accounting system
*AAT studies or equivalent practical accounting experience
*The ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload
*A proactive and confident approach to resolving queries
