Job Description:
Full job descriptionI’m currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join a leading international insurance business in London.
This is a key role within the finance function, with responsibility for technical accounting, financial controls and month-end reporting, alongside the management of a small team.
You will be responsible for:
*Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results process.
*Managing and developing a small team of accountants.
*Ownership of technical accounting month-end, including premiums, claims, acquisition costs, case reserves and IBNR.
*Oversight of technical GL reconciliations, controls and data quality.
*Ensuring accurate underwriting allocations across line of business, accident year, year of account, statutory class and currency.
*Reconciliation across core financial systems and resolution of data issues.
*Supporting audit requirements and working closely with FP&A, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Regulatory Reporting.
*Driving improvements to month-end processes, controls and reporting.
*Ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.
What we’re looking forTo be successful in this finance manager role, you’ll have to have the following experience:
*Strong insurance accounting experience.
*Proven experience owning or leading an insurance month-end
*US GAAP knowledge, preferably within insurance.
*Previous people management or team leadership experience.
*ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification is desirable.
