Rate: £40 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a local authority on a 3-month contract.
The successful candidate will support the transport and highways function, providing transport planning advice across development, policy and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities*Develop and support transport strategies, policies and programmes.
*Review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
*Provide advice on transport and highways standards.
*Manage consultations relating to planning applications.
*Work with developers, contractors, internal teams and external stakeholders.
*Represent the authority at regional and national transport meetings.
*Support transport projects, budgets and programme delivery.
*Monitor the quality and performance of suppliers and contractors.
*Prepare reports and present information to senior officers, committees and stakeholders.
*Keep up to date with transport policy, legislation and highways standards.
About YouWe are looking for someone with:
*A degree in Planning, Transport or a related subject.
*Strong knowledge of transport planning, highways and planning policy.
*Experience delivering transport projects and programmes.
*Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills.
*Experience working with developers, local authorities and other partners.
*Good understanding of project and budget management.
*Experience preparing complex reports and presenting to senior stakeholders or committees.
