Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Start Date:October 2026 or January 2027
We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Maidstone, Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The RoleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help pupils access the curriculum, develop their confidence and independence, and make positive progress both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
*Supporting children across KS1 and KS2
*Helping pupils access and engage with the curriculum
*Supporting children’s social, emotional and behavioural development
*Implementing individual support strategies and learning plans
*Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs
*Promoting independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
*Creating a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment
About YouWe are looking for someone who:
*Has previous experience working with children with SEN
*Has experience supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2
*Has experience working within a mainstream primary school
*Is patient, caring and understanding
*Can build positive relationships with children and staff
*Is confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
*Is reliable, proactive and adaptable
*Has a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
DBS RequirementA fully enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Applicants must either:
*Hold a fully enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or
*Be willing to apply for a new enhanced DBS check.
Working HoursMonday to Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm | Full-Time
