This is an exciting opportunity to grow on the job. We are looking for someone thoughtful and enthusiastic, who will manage and support the team within a Decontamination setting - predominantly the Endoscopy Scope Service, but also Sterile Services and Laundry when required. You will thrive in a role that offers genuine autonomy within a continually changing environment.

Decontamination services are used by the Trust’s many wards, departments, Theatres, and external healthcare providers, who rely on us for clean linen, sterile surgical instruments, endoscopy scopes, and sterile packs for safe patient use.
Main duties of the job*Lead and mentor the Decontamination Supervisors and Technician Team - managing daily operations, performance, rotas, and urgent requests.

*Assist with staff training and development to ensure adherence to SOPs and compliance withISO 9001, ISO 13485, and JAG standards.
*Support the Quality Control team with audit activities and perform full decontamination duties as required.
*Use Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation, spreadsheets, and data recording.
*Conduct daily equipment testing and maintain accurate logs.

Person specificationQualificationsEssential criteria*IT skills - Microsoft word and excel
*Degree or equivalent experience. Management or Customer Care qualifications to NVQ level 3.
*Full theoretical and practical knowledge of all equipment and laundry processes or HSDU processes
*Relevant, up-to-date training in health and safety management.
Desirable criteria*Internal auditor to ISO 13485.
ExperienceEssential criteria*Previous Supervisory experience of dealing with staff disciplinary, grievance, sickness absences, personal issues.
*Experience of managing quality systems and procedures.
Desirable criteria*In depth knowledge of sterilisation /decontamination practices, HTM01-01
*Previous experience in HSDU environment
Knowledge and SkillsEssential criteria*Detailed knowledge of either laundry or sterile services technology through training and experience.
*Able to understand and follow spoken instructions, comply with detailed work procedures and training.
*Observe and comply with legislation
