The Role

Working closely with Managers and Directors, you’ll take responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses.

Responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
*Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
*Producing management accounts and financial information
*Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
*Acting as a key point of contact for clients
*Building strong, long-term relationships with business owners
*Providing proactive accounting and business advice
*Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and improving their accounting processes
*Identifying tax planning and wider advisory opportunities
*Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team
*Coaching and supporting trainees and Semi Seniors
*Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex client matters
*Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:
*ACA or ACCA qualification, although strong qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered
*Strong experience within UK accountancy practice
*Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses
*Good corporation tax knowledge
*Strong communication and client relationship skills
*Confidence dealing directly with business owners
*Experience reviewing or supporting junior team members
*Good knowledge of cloud accounting software
*A proactive approach and an interest in developing beyond traditional compliance work
