Job Description:
Full job descriptionFlexible working: minimum 2 days per fortnight in office
Arena tours, main stage festivals, major venue contracts across lighting, video, rigging, staging and audio. The Event Production Business Development Manager seat at a fast-growing North East technical hire company, largely remote, with the pipeline and strategy yours to own.
- Arena tours, festivals and major venue projects for your portfolio
- Largely remote with just 2 days per fortnight in office
- Autonomous role. You own the strategy and the pipeline
- Excellent progression in a growing company
- 28 days annual holiday
The Company
This is a North East-based technical production and equipment-hire company specialising in lighting, video, rigging, staging and audio. Working on arena touring, outdoor events, main stage festivals and long-term venue contracts. The team is tight-knit, with offices across the North East and Yorkshire. Projects run into six figures and above; the client base is growing and the ambition is clear.
The Role
As Event Production Business Development Manager, you will own the new business pipeline from the ground up, building a sales strategy, running targeted relationship-based outreach, managing client relationships through from quotation to delivery, and reporting weekly on activity and forecast.
- Generate and manage a new business sales pipeline across event production clients nationally
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan with regular pipeline reporting
- Build and maintain relationships with venues, festival organisers and touring clients
- Handle enquiries from quotation through to equipment or service specification
- Attend client sites and travel nationally to support and develop key accounts
- Identify tender opportunities and contribute to submissions
- Collaborate with the project management team to maximise value from existing clients
The Candidate
The right candidate brings proven experience in a BDM or sales role within the event production industry, with a solid technical understanding of lighting, AV, rigging or related disciplines. If you are an Event Production Business Development Manager who has built and managed your own pipeline before, worked with genuine autonomy, and knows how to develop a sales strategy without being handed a playbook, this is worth your attention.
A background in an adjacent area of live events is beneficial but not essential for the Event Production Business Development Manager role. What matters is that you understand the live events landscape, can earn trust quickly with industry clients, and are comfortable being on the road frequently. Ambition and the ability to work independently are non-negotiable.
In return, you get 28 days holiday, a largely remote working pattern and a portfolio that spans arena tours, main stage festivals and major venue contracts. Salary is flexible depending on what you bring. This role will not be open for long and interviews are being arranged now, so apply today to be considered as an Event Production Business Development Manager.
