Are you a confident B2B sales or business development professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships and uncovering new commercial opportunities?
We’re working with an established business within the construction sector that is looking for a Sales Executive to join it’s family feel organisation.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the research, prospecting and relationship-building side of business development, but who also wants to see the commercial impact of the opportunities they create.
About the roleYou’ll work closely with a team of Business Development Managers, helping to identify the right organisations and decision-makers, create meaningful conversations and generate high-quality opportunities.
This is not a high-volume telesales role. The focus is on quality rather than simply making calls, with the aim of creating genuine project opportunities that can develop into specifications, quotations and ultimately new business.
You’ll be engaging with a wide range of organisations including local authorities, housing associations, architects, surveyors, consultants, contractors and other construction-related businesses.
Key responsibilities*Research and identify target organisations, projects and key decision-makers within your region.
*Make contact with prospects via telephone, email, LinkedIn and other channels.
*Develop credible, tailored conversations based on the customer’s role, projects and potential requirements.
*Arrange high-quality meetings, CPDs and project discussions for the Business Development Managers.
*Qualify opportunities by understanding project requirements, timescales, budgets, procurement routes and key stakeholders.
*Identify opportunities to develop long-term relationships and repeat business.
*Research contractors and installers, including those currently working with competitor products.
*Support the team with CPD activity and ensure opportunities are followed up effectively.
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records.
*Work closely with Business Development, Marketing and Technical teams to share market intelligence and improve prospecting activity.
*Track opportunities after handover to understand how your activity is contributing to quotations, pipeline and ultimately sales.
You’ll ideally have experience in a B2B sales, business development, lead generation, account management or appointment-setting environment, although industry experience is not essential.
You’ll need to be:
*Confident speaking to decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
*Comfortable making outbound calls and creating new relationships.
*A strong communicator with excellent questioning and listening skills.
*Commercially aware and able to identify genuine opportunities.
*Organised, proactive and confident managing your own follow-ups.
*Comfortable using CRM systems and keeping accurate records.
*Resilient and persistent without being overly pushy.
*A strong team player who enjoys working alongside field-based sales professionals.
