Full job descriptionAre you a detail-driven Payroll Coordinator looking to Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Payroll Coordinator where you’ll not only ensure people are paid accurately and on time but also play a key role in supporting the wider HR and finance function.


Position Purpose
*The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of end-to-end payroll for a high-volume UK workforce. This role focuses on maintaining payroll integrity, statutory compliance, and high-quality reporting while overseeing payroll controls, resolving complex queries, and supporting continuous system improvements.


Key Responsibilities & Duties
* End-to-End Payroll Delivery
*Execute accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing
*Manage the full employee payroll lifecycle, including starters, leavers, and contractual variations.
*Calculate and process all statutory payments (including SSP, SMP, SPP) and holiday pay in strict accordance with UK legislation.
*Process BACS payments and maintain robust payroll controls, validation procedures, and audit checks.


* Data Integration & Systems Management
*Download, validate, and reconcile data from the automated time and attendance (T&A) system against final payroll outputs.
*Administer and maintain employee records within core enterprise HR and payroll databases.
*Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, system errors, and escalated employee queries.


* Reporting, Compliance & Analysis
*Produce comprehensive payroll, labour cost, pension, National Insurance, bonus, and commission reporting.
*Partner with HR and Finance teams to deliver ad-hoc data analysis and management information (MI).
*Guarantee strict adherence to GDPR, data confidentiality protocols, and statutory payroll regulations.
*Support internal and external payroll compliance and audit requirements.


* Process Improvement
*Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and efficiency gains.
*Support the implementation of system workflows and automation tools.


Candidate Profile & Qualifications
*Experience & Technical Skills
*High-Volume Payroll: Proven track record of managing end-to-end payroll data
*Systems Competency: Strong proficiency in standard mainstream UK payroll software and mid-to-large-tier Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) HR platforms.
*Advanced Excel: Advanced data manipulation capabilities, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data cleansing, and exception reporting.
*Desirable Assets: Prior experience working with automated time & attendance software and workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate) is highly advantageous.
*Core Competencies & Attributes
*Exceptional attention to detail with an uncompromising commitment to accuracy.
*Strong organizational and time-management skills; capable of hitting rigid deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial or payroll data for non-finance stakeholders.
*High level of professional integrity, discretion, and problem-solving capability.
