Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and helping them thrive in the classroom? A supportive and inclusive primary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated ASD TA to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ASD TA to develop their SEN experience while playing an important role in supporting pupils’ communication, confidence, independence and access to learning.
The RoleAs an ASD TA, you will:
*Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support.
*Help pupils engage with lessons and classroom activities.
*Support communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
*Encourage independence and develop pupils’ social skills.
*Adapt your approach to suit individual learning and sensory needs.
*Work alongside teachers, the SENCO and wider support team.
*Help create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment.
About YouThe successful ASD TA will have:
*A patient, caring and empathetic approach.
*Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
*A genuine interest in special educational needs.
*The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations.
*A willingness to learn and develop your understanding of autism.
*Previous experience supporting children with autism or SEN is desirable but not essential.
