Full job descriptionOn an exclusive basis, We are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a successful and growing professional services organisation in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant to take ownership of key financial reporting and control activities within a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
Working closely with the wider finance team and senior stakeholders, you will help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while supporting statutory compliance, audit and the continued improvement of finance processes.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare monthly financial accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and supporting analysis.
*Support the preparation of annual statutory accounts and year-end reporting.
*Own balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items.
*Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
*Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit information requirements.
*Prepare VAT returns and support wider tax and regulatory compliance.
*Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities.
*Maintain robust financial controls and ensure accounting policies are consistently applied.
*Support cash flow reporting and working capital management.
*Work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to resolve financial queries and improve reporting.
*Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve the efficiency of the finance function.
*Support ad hoc projects, analysis and wider business initiatives.
About You
*ACA/ ACCA qualified - could be a first mover from practice.
*Strong financial accounting and technical reporting experience.
*Good understanding of statutory reporting, audit and financial controls.
*Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
*Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
*Confident communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders across the business.
*Proactive and commercially aware, with a continuous improvement mindset.
