Job Description:
Full job descriptionMorson is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking Manufacturing Engineers to join their teams at the site in Burnley.
Key Responsibilities
Process Definition & Development*Define and validate manufacturing processes to ensure consistency and compliance with specifications and industry standards.
*Design manufacturing processes using Takt/Flow methodology, incorporating ergonomic and safety considerations.
*Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, inspection methods, quality control points, and related documentation.
*Develop routes, Bills of Materials (BOMs), master layouts, tooling requests, COSs, data sheets, and production support drawings.
Technical Support & Industrialisation*Ensure process designs meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
*Provide technical support to internal teams and external suppliers.
*Plan, lead and coordinate industrialisation activities and product validation.
*Support the development of manufacturing concepts, equipment selection, and workplace layout design.
Stakeholder & Programme Engagement*Collaborate with programme teams, including Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Digitalisation, and Environmental initiatives.
*Represent Manufacturing Engineering in customer interactions alongside the Industrial Programme Manager.
*Apply PFMEA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to manage risk and ensure sustainable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
Continuous Improvement & Project Delivery*Deliver improvement and industrialisation projects within agreed scope and deadlines.
*Support process flow enhancements and ensure updates are accurately reflected in ERP systems.
*Participate in lean initiatives and engage in Level 1 and Level 2 Quick Response Quality Control (QRQC) activities.
Candidate Skills & Requirements (Assembly Team)*Experience with complex assembly manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace sector.
*Engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials), HND, or equivalent experience.
*Medium to advanced proficiency in CATIA v5 for working with 3D component models.
