Academics are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Individual Needs Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Mid Sussex from the start of October.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to a pupil’s learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role:*Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs
*Support the pupil to access and engage with their learning
*Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child
*Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
*Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
*Adapt support according to the individual needs of the pupil
*Provide emotional and pastoral support where required
*Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:*Previous experience supporting children with SEN/additional needs in a UK school setting
*Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be highly desirable
*A patient, calm and nurturing approach
*Confident supporting children with a range of additional needs
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Reliable, resilient and passionate about supporting children
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one
