A well-established educational setting is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide interim work within its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with previous school finance experience and strong working knowledge of FMS to join a supportive environment during a busy and important period of the academic year.
Your new role
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and assisting with key year-end finance activities.
Duties will include:
*Processing purchase orders, invoices and journals using FMS.
*Maintaining supplier records and resolving invoice queries.
*Processing BACS payments and supporting creditor management.
*Raising invoices and supporting income collection processes.
*Reconciling bank accounts and purchasing card statements.
*Supporting budget monitoring and financial reporting activities.
*Administering ParentPay and assisting with income reconciliation.
*Assisting with statutory returns and year-end financial procedures.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Previous experience working within a school finance environment.
*Working knowledge of FMS is essential.
*Experience processing purchase orders, invoices and reconciliations.
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
*Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
*Knowledge of ParentPay and SIMS would be advantageous.
