We are currently recruiting for a Optical Lab Technician to join our client based in their Glasgow store.


Job Summary


Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Optical Lab Technician to join their laboratory team. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality optical products by accurately manufacturing and glazing lenses in line with prescriptions, quality standards, and turnaround times.


Key Responsibilities
*Interpret and process optical prescriptions accurately
*Edge, glaze, and assemble lenses into frames
*Carry out quality checks to ensure lenses meet prescription and company standards
*Operate and maintain optical lab machinery safely
*Identify and resolve production issues efficiently
*Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment
*Consistently meet turnaround time targets to support timely delivery of glasses


Skills and Experience
*Maths and English to National Level 4 or 5 or equivalent
*Strong attention to detail and time management skills
*Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy over sustained periods
*Ability to follow instructions and prioritise workload effectively

*High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
*Good manual dexterity and practical skills, with the ability to handle delicate materials and equipment
*Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy under pressure and to tight turnaround times
*Reliable, with a positive and team focused approach to work
*Strong awareness of health and safety, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment


Desirable
*Previous experience working within an optical laboratory or similar production environment
*Experience using optical lab equipment, including edging and glazing machinery
*Familiarity with interpreting optical prescriptions
