Senior Chemical Process Engineer
Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join a major life sciences project based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the detailed design of a new pharmaceutical facility manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (API). Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering environment, you will contribute to a high-profile project that supports cutting-edge pharmaceutical production. This contract is offered on an inside IR35 basis for an initial 6-month period, with the possibility of extension, and operates on a 40-hour working week.
As a Senior Chemical Process Engineer, you will support FEED and detailed design activities, developing engineering solutions for complex pharmaceutical process plants. Responsibilities will include P&ID development, utility sizing, process calculations, and the design of safety-critical systems such as relief and vent systems. You will also contribute to the design of ancillary systems supporting synthesis and purification technologies while working closely with process, mechanical, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
To be successful, you will bring proven experience working on API manufacturing facilities and pharmaceutical process plants, alongside a strong understanding of detailed design and FEED project delivery. This Senior Chemical Process Engineer opportunity requires attendance in the Manchester office three days per week as part of a hybrid working arrangement.
Essential Requirements:
*Experience working on API manufacturing facilities and pharmaceutical process plants
*Experience supporting FEED and detailed design projects
*Ability to work onsite in Manchester three days per week
*Existing right to work in the UK and ability to obtain BPSS clearance
*Strong process engineering and safety design experience
