Hays Education are working in partnership with a large and welcoming secondary school in Batley to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This is a full-time, long-term role running until Christmas in the first instance, with a strong possibility of being extended beyond.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker, or someone with a similar background who thrives on building positive relationships and supporting young people to succeed.
The RoleYou will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and pastoral support, helping them remain engaged in lessons and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
*Building positive and professional relationships with students.
*Working alongside teaching staff to promote positive behaviour in lessons.
*Delivering targeted interventions and one-to-one support.
*Assisting students in overcoming barriers to learning.
*Encouraging engagement, attendance, and personal development.
*Maintaining a calm, supportive, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
What We’re Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you should have:
*Experience supporting behaviour within a secondary school or similar setting within the last two years.
*Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
*The ability to build rapport with young people quickly.
*A resilient, patient, and empathetic approach.
*A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their potential.
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Sports Coach, or similar role will be highly beneficial.What Hays Education Can Offer
