The school are seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant Level 3 (TA3) to join our dedicated SEN team from Monday 21st September. The role will be Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm.
The successful candidate will support a specialist SEN teacher within a small class of 6 pupils with high-level additional needs, working alongside another Teaching Assistant to provide outstanding support and ensure pupils can access learning in a safe, nurturing and structured environment.
This is a TA3 position as the successful candidate will be required to lead the class and cover teaching responsibilities during the SEN teacher’s PPA time, following planned lessons and maintaining continuity of learning.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the SEN teacher in delivering high-quality learning opportunities.
*Work closely with pupils who have a range of complex and high-level special educational needs.
*Implement individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies.
*Promote pupil engagement, independence and wellbeing.
*Assist with personal care requirements where necessary.
*Work collaboratively with the SEN teacher, support staff, parents and external professionals.
*Lead the class during teacher PPA time, delivering pre-planned lessons and activities.
*Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teaching team.
*Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
Person Specification
Essential
*TA Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
*Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
*Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
*Confidence in leading learning activities and small groups independently.
*Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
*Flexible, patient and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.
Desirable
*Experience within an SEN school, resource provision or specialist setting.
*Knowledge of autism, communication needs, sensory needs or other complex learning difficulties.
*Experience covering classes or delivering planned learning activities independently.
