An established civil engineering contractor is looking to strengthen its Sheffield team with the addition of an experienced Estimator.
You’ll play a central role in winning new work, engaging with clients, suppliers and colleagues across the business at every stage from first enquiry through to final tender.
What you’ll be doing:
*Building precise cost estimates and compiling tender submissions
*Interpreting drawings, specifications and supporting project documents
*Sourcing and assessing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
*Compiling take-offs and bills of quantities
*Spotting risks early and identifying opportunities for value engineering
*Acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams throughout the tender process
*Handing over successful bids smoothly to the delivery team once contracts are awarded
What we’re looking for:
*A background in estimating within construction, civil engineering, structural steelwork, manufacturing, or a similar field
*Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings and specs
*Sharp commercial instincts paired with a keen eye for detail
*Strong communication skills and a well-organised approach
*Comfortable working with Microsoft Office
