Full job descriptionThe Senior Manager - IFRS 9 Accounting & Controls role in the financial services industry focuses on overseeing accounting and control processes related to IFRS 9 compliance. Based in Birmingham, this position ensures financial accuracy and supports key decision-making within the organisation.

Description
*Deliver ongoing IFRS 9 reporting for the UK balance sheet, including review/challenge of reporting solutions and supporting a streamlined reporting process
*Perform monthly expected credit loss pack reviews: reasonableness checks and variance analysis
*Provide technical review of key outputs (IFRS & FINREP credit disclosures, Encumbrance, PRA108) and perform quarterly supplementary reporting reviews
*Run data quality and remediation activities: validate impairment outputs, analyse complex datasets, support automation projects and data-quality fixes
*Own and operate controls (SOX) and help embed/improve the IFRS 9 reporting control framework.
Profile
*Demonstrable experience working within a UK bank / large financial services / IFRS reporting environment
*Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA
*Strong IFRS 9 experience
*Regulatory and financial reporting experience, including experience interpreting requirements such as FINREP and PRA returns
*SOX controls
*Advanced analytical and data remediation experience
*Experience of building, influencing, and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders
