Are you a Town Planner looking for your next opportunity with an established and forward-thinking planning consultancy?
I’m currently working with a well-regarded planning and development consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Exeter team with the appointment of a Town Planner.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who wants to work on a varied portfolio of projects, develop their career and gain exposure to a broad range of planning matters across the South West.
The roleAs a Town Planner, you’ll work closely with clients, colleagues, local authorities and other stakeholders, providing planning advice and supporting projects from inception through to delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation
*Undertaking planning research and policy assessments
*Providing planning advice to a range of clients
*Supporting the preparation of planning strategies and development proposals
*Liaising with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
*Managing your own workload and contributing to wider project teams
*Assisting with appeals, representations and other planning matters
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships
About youWe’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in planning and development who is keen to progress within a consultancy environment.
You’ll ideally have:
*A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
*Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment
*A good understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
*A commercially aware and client-focused approach
*Membership of the RTPI, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous
