The opportunity
Are you experienced in Streetworks/NRSWA and confident making decisions on permits and road space?
Leicestershire County Council is looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Network Management Technician to join its Highways & Transport team.
This is a great opportunity to play an important role in keeping Leicestershire moving. You’ll help coordinate works across the highway network, minimise disruption and ensure works are carried out safely and in line with legislation.
What you’ll be doing
Working as part of the Network Management team, you’ll use your Streetworks expertise to:
*Assess short-duration permit applications, including Immediate Emergency and Urgent works, deciding whether to grant the works or challenge applications through Modification Requests or Imposed Variations.
*Review and process Section 50, Section 171 and Road Space Booking applications.
*Use Street Manager and One.Network to coordinate works and support the effective management of the highway network.
*Liaise with utilities, contractors and other stakeholders to resolve queries and help minimise disruption to road users.
*Support the monitoring of works to ensure they are compliant with relevant NRSWA and Streetworks legislation.
What we’re looking for
You’ll need hands-on Streetworks/NRSWA experience gained within a Utility, Contract Partner or Highway Authority environment.
You’ll also bring:
*Good working knowledge of relevant Streetworks/NRSWA legislation.
*Experience using Street Manager and One.Network.
*Experience assessing Streetworks permits and working confidently with emergency and urgent works.
*The ability to make sound decisions, challenge applications where necessary and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
*Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Experience using Confirm would be a bonus, but it isn’t essential as full training will be provided.
