Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, long-term (temporary position until July 2027 - with a possible extension)

A secondary school in Newham is looking for a reliable and hardworking Facilities Assistant to join their site team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming school environment.
The RoleAs a Facilities Assistant, you will work alongside the Site Manager and wider premises team to ensure the school site is well maintained and operational on a day-to-day basis.
Key responsibilities include:
*Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
*Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the premises.
*Ensuring classrooms, communal areas and external spaces are safe and well maintained.
*Setting up and moving furniture and equipment for lessons and school events.
*Carrying out regular site checks and reporting any issues or hazards.
*Assisting with deliveries, contractors and visitors when required.
*Supporting the opening and closing of the school site.
*Helping to maintain high standards of health and safety across the premises.
*Responding promptly to facilities and maintenance requests.
*Carrying out other general site duties as required.
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
*Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, caretaking or site-based role.
*Good practical and DIY skills.
*A proactive and hands-on approach to work.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Good communication and organisational skills.
*An understanding of health and safety within a working environment.
*A reliable, professional and flexible attitude.
*Previous experience working within a school or education setting would be advantageous, but is not essential.
